1. Beaches

There is no way to better spend a long summer day than going to the beach. Fortunately, the 3200 km coast of South Africa provides an endless array of beaches to visit. Whether you want to lazily sunbathe or break some sweat, SA’s beaches offer it all. Some of the top beaches to visit are Camps Bay, Clifton Beach, Bloubergstrand, Plettenberg Bay, Jeffreys Bay, Sodwana Bay and Durban’s South Beach.

2. Hiking

With South Africa boasting such a massive variety of natural landscapes it’s not hard to see why hiking is among the top activities to do in summer. From gentle hikes for the family to 7 day expeditions, your hiking bug will be more than satisfied. Among the plethora of Hiking Trails some of the most popular are Otter Trail (Tstitsikamma), Table Mountain (Cape Town), Amphitheatre Heritage Hike (Drakensberg) and Amphitheatre Heritage Hike (Drakensberg)

3. Safari’s

Another thing that makes South Africa very special is its awesome variety of wildlife. It is fortunate that South Africa’s people have great respect for its animal inhabitants, resulting in an abundance of game reserves that help preserve our wildlife. Most of these reserves also offer very luxurious accommodation. Some of our best reserves are the Kruger National Park, Addo Elephant Park, Sabi Sand Game Reserve, Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park and the Mapungubwe National Park.

4. Holiday Resorts

Holiday Resorts are an excellent way to spend a summer in South Africa and many a time they provide you with a mixture of all the above mentioned topics with a healthy addition of other activities such as mini-golf, tennis, kayaking, casinos, water-parks, theme parks and so much more. Some of these Resorts you definitely need to check out are Sun City, Club Mykonos, Knysna River Club and The Baths.

My passion for travel is fuelled by my love for photography and writing. Through these mediums of expression I hope to inspire people to follow their hearts and see the world. There is an entire planet filled with a variety of people and experiences waiting for us to meet them.
