For this reason the area has become a popular place to grow and sell organic foods, fresh produce and even coffee.
With its sub-tropical climate, the hinterland’s unique rainforest habitat is filled with beautiful flowers and plants growing in thick forests teaming with birds and other wildlife. Hiking through the rainforest, listening to the beautiful bird calls and waterfalls in the distance makes this a most memorable destination.
The hinterland region lies west of Byron Bay and the Pacific Motorway. Travelling west towards Nimbin, this is a scenic drive that should be taken at a relaxing pace as the winding roads offer some spectacular scenery.
