Smarty pants? Win R10,000 by playing Flight Centre and 702’s all-new WizQuiz!

Thursday, April 6, 2023

Calling all smarty pants! Since 6 March 2023, Flight Centre has partnered with 702 and Breakfast with Bongani to put South Africa’s whizz kids’ general knowledge to the test – and, so far, they’ve passed with flying colours.

The best part? Along with earning the title of WizQuiz master, there’s also R10,000 up for grabs every time we play.

Anyone interested in participating can apply by sending a voice note to 072 702 1 702 with their name, age, school and a reason why they want to give WizQuiz a whirl.

A couple of weeks ago, Zayaana Dangor from Qurtuba Islamic Academy in Sandton, Johannesburg, snagged the R10,000 prize, answering every one of her questions correctly. The questions were as follows:

1. Spell the word ‘library’.

2. Arteries carry blood from the heart to the body – true or false? True.

3. What word beginning with ‘K’ is a baby goat called? Kid.

4. Complete the saying: ‘Strike while the iron is – what?’. Hot.

5. What is half of 66? 33.

6. What is the name of Marvel Studio’s first superhero movie from Africa? ‘Black Panther’.

7. What is the fourth month of the year? April.

8. Which planet’s name begins with the letter ‘J’? Jupiter.

9. Which word means ‘shelter’? Sanction or refuge? Refuge.

10. Leonardo da Vinci’s famous painting is a woman called Mona, what? Lisa.

The Flight Centre team is super proud of Zayaana and her performance, and we look forward to seeing more young South Africans win themselves a generous amount of pocket money, too!

“We at Flight Centre love getting involved in educational programmes outside of the work we do with the Flight Centre Foundation, which is the heart of the FCTG’s corporate and social responsibility strategy. The goal is to help our youth build a better, brighter future,” comments Antoinette Turner, General Manager at Flight Centre.

The WizQuiz competition runs until 31 May. To all our budding brainiacs – now’s your chance to reach for the sky and show South Africa what you’re made of!
