Dolphins are known to follow boats back to Whyalla's marina so spotting one doesn't take much of a trick. There are seals in the area too. The redeveloped local foreshore offers recreational facilities and if you've a nautical bent you can also see and tour the navy's former World War 2-era corvette, HMAS Whyalla.
