FLIGHT CENTRE TRAVEL GROUP STEPS IN TO SAVE PASSENGERS
AFFECTED BY UNITED EUROPE TOUR OPERATOR CLOSURE
JOHANNESBURG, 26 JUNE 2019 – While the travel industry grapples with the shock announcement that United Europe has self-liquidated, Flight Centre Travel Group has confirmed its team is working around the clock to ensure there is no negative impact to the customers who booked their holidays with any of its brands, namely Flight Centre, Cruiseabout or Flight Centre Associates.
“We will ensure that every single Flight Centre Travel Group customer who is affected by the sudden closure of United Europe is looked after, because they entrusted us, as a reputable travel company who has served millions of people over the past 25 years, with their hard-earned savings for their dream holiday.
“In these difficult economic times, it is imperative that travellers put their trust in reputable travel companies that have the financial backing. Our team has been working diligently since Friday afternoon 21 June to re-accommodate several stranded travellers left out of pocket. The cost to Flight Centre Travel Group is substantial and will run into millions of rands,” says Andrew Stark, MD for FCTG MEA.
Affected customers should contact their Travel Expert, store or Flight Centre’s dedicated Customer Experience team on 0877 40 50 80 or customercare@fctg.co.za.
