Economy
There are two fare types available in Economy Class. Guests can choose between the most economical Saver fare and the more inclusive Flexi fare. Saver Fares are the most value oriented way to fly. Additional services such as food and beverages, checked bags, and flight changes and cancellations are available at an extra cost if the guest decides to use these services. Flexi Fares offer the convenience of a complimentary meal and beverage service, a checked baggage allowance and very flexible change and cancellation terms, often times at no cost.
Virgin Samoa’s Economy Class cabin is appointed with leather seats of slim line design for maximum comfort and space. Each seat features a four-way adjustable headrest with winged ends for additional head and neck support. Food, beverages and entertainment are available for purchase if not on a Flexi Fare.
Entertainment: Virgin Samoa aircraft are owned and operated by Virgin Australia. The airline is progressively fitting each of its aircraft with Wireless In-flight Entertainment throughout its fleet. With this wireless capability, guests will be able to enjoy a huge range of entertainment options on their own laptop, tablet or Smartphone. On aircraft not yet equipped with Wireless In-flight Entertainment, hand-held personal entertainment devices are available for a small fee. These devices are subject to availability however. The devices come pre-loaded with movies, TV shows and music.
Food and Beverage: As on all Virgin Samoa and Virgin Australia flights, coffee, tea and water are complimentary at all times. Virgin Samoa guests travelling on a Flexi Fare are given a complimentary meal featuring gourmet items from Virgin’s consulting chef Luke Mangan. All beverages for Flexi guests are complimentary, including beer and wine on flights departing after 4pm. Those travelling on a Saver Fare may purchase food and beverages from the extensive in-flight menu. The menu features Luke Mangan inspired hot and cold snacks such as sandwiches, wraps and pies and much more.
Premium Economy
Guests in Premium Economy enjoy the added comfort of more space and an all inclusive travel product. Passengers will find both a wider seat and greater leg room for added comfort. Additional benefits include complimentary food and beverages, a hand-held digEplayer for entertainment, an increased baggage allowance and priority check in.
Entertainment: Virgin is in the process of adding Wireless In-Flight Entertainment to its fleet of aircraft. With this service, guests will be able to watch a wide range of movies and TV shows as well as listen to a huge collection of music. On aircraft not yet equipped with Wireless Entertainment, Virgin Samoa provides portable hand-held devices with pre-loaded entertainment options.
Food and Beverage: Guests can select from the extensive Luke Mangan inspired menu filled with gourmet options. Menu items are complimentary for Premium Economy guests.
Virgin Samoa Baggage Allowance
Carry-on
The cabin baggage allowance for Virgin Samoa flights is 7kg. Guests may choose to bring two small bags or one slightly larger bag. The maximum size for bags under the two carry-on policy is 48cm long x 34 cm wide x 23cm deep with total linear dimensions of 105cm. For guests who choose the larger one carry-on option, the maximum size dimensions are 114cm long x 60cm wide x 11cm deep for total linear dimensions of 185cm.
Certain medical mobility devices such as crutches and wheelchairs are exempt from these limitations.
Checked
The checked baggage allowance on Virgin Samoa flights varies depending on fare class and Velocity frequent flyer status.
Saver and Flexi Fares – Guests are allowed one 23kg bag. Silver and Gold Velocity members are permitted two 23kg bags free of charge. Platinum Velocity members may check up to three 23kg bags.
Premium Economy and Business – All guests, including Silver and Gold Velocity members are allowed two 32kg bags for check-in. Platinum members may check up to three 32kg bags.
For operational reasons the pre-purchase of extra baggage allowance is not permitted.
Bulky Items
Oversized and bulky baggage may be accepted provided the item does not weigh more than 32kg and/or exceed 3 metres in length. Sporting equipment will be counted as part of the free checked baggage allowance provided it does not exceed size and weight limitations. Bicycles, surfboards and skis may be accepted if strict packaging requirements are met. Please ask your Flight Centre Consultant for specific packaging instructions.
Musical instruments will be counted towards the guest’s baggage allowance and any item weighing between 23 and 32kg will be charged an overweight fee. Instruments and music equipment weighing more than 32kg must be shipped as freight.
Guests travelling with a cello or guitar may purchase an additional seat for the instrument. Additional seat bookings must be made through the Virgin Australia call centre.
Infant Baggage
An additional small carry-on bag containing items such as nappies and baby food may be taken as cabin luggage when travelling with an infant. Items such as prams, portable cots, car seats and baby capsules may all be checked in free of charge.
luggage containing infant clothing and toys will count towards the guest’s baggage allowance.
Restricted or Dangerous Goods
Restricted items include dangerous goods such as flammable liquids, gasses and solids, explosives and fireworks, corrosives, toxins, radioactive materials and other substances that may endanger the safety of an aircraft. Such items are not permitted in either carry-on or checked luggage.
Equipment both new and used which are powered by petrol or gas engines will not be accepted for carriage.

Lounge in luxury before you fly
Virgin Samoa utilizes the Air New Zealand lounge facilities at Brisbane International and Sydney International terminals for guests flying Premium Economy and Business as well as for Gold and Platinum Velocity members.
While Virgin Australia operates its own lounges at nine domestic Australian airports, it currently does not maintain international lounges of its own. Alliance partner Air New Zealand provides lounge facilities for international flights.

The Velocity frequent flyer program recognises guests who travel with Virgin Australia and Virgin Samoa. The Velocity program consists of Red, Silver, Gold and Platinum status levels, each with their own rewards. The more you fly the more flight and travel benefits become available.
Velocity points can be earned and redeemed for travel not only on Virgin Australia and Virgin Samoa but also with global alliance partners Delta Air Lines, Singapore Airlines, Air New Zealand, Etihad Airways, Virgin America and Hawaiian. Velocity status levels and benefits include:
Red
Advanced seat selection and upgrade points, family pooling of points and status credits, membership card with Global Wallet™ functionality, and members only promotions.
Silver
250 status credits are needed to upgrade to Silver. Additional benefits include a 50% points bonus on Virgin Australia, Virgin Samoa, and other partners, a 25% points bonus for flights on Etihad Airways, priority check-in for international flights, a complimentary baggage allowance and two complimentary passes to the Virgin Australia domestic lounge.
Gold
To attain Gold membership, 500 status credits are required. In addition to Red and Silver benefits, Gold members also enjoy a 75% points bonus for Virgin Australia and Virgin Samoa flights as well as other travel partners, a 50% points bonus for Etihad Airways flights, upgrade points for international flights, priority check-in for both domestic and international flights, priority boarding and priority security screening lanes, unlimited access to over 150 global lounges, an increase baggage allowance and priority baggage.
Platinum
This status level is reached with 1,000 status credits over 8 eligible flight sectors. Benefits include access to the best seats in economy and business, a greater baggage allowance, a 100% points bonus for Virgin Australia and Virgin Samoa flights and other travel partners as well as a 50% points bonus for Etihad Airways flights.
